Child Labour in India

6 juin 2014

Child labour.

In the 18 century, in England, children were forced to work in mines and in factories in order to help their families. They worked in difficult conditions for exemple, the factories were dirty. They had to work very long hours for low wages. In the 19th century ,the situation for children improved but not India.

We can see, on the cartoon, a man who is whipping a child. The man is angry and bad with the child. We can see that he is sad because he is crying, he is sewing and he is tied.

The man may represent bosses in India. The child may represent child labour because he is exploited and is whipped.

The cartoonist wants to show the horrors of child labour. He wants to denounce child labour in India.
